One Struggle KC and Una Lucha KC were formed in the wake of national and global events that inspired their founding members to act. A coalition of community activists seeking to harness the energy of Ferguson, Missouri, One Struggle KC aims to connect the struggles of many communities, locally and globally, particularly communities of color affected by anti-black racism and state violence. Una Lucha KC was formed after the disappearance of the 43 students in Ayotzinapa, Mexico. Una Lucha KC seeks to unify marginalized communities that have experienced continuous oppression at the hands of the state. Both organizations have worked to amplify the voices of marginalized communities through direct actions, education, town halls, and a social media presence.
