Our Listeners Get A Chance To Weigh In on Stand Your Ground Laws

Cartoon credit – Mark Hurwitt – http://www.hurwittgraphics.com/

JoJR asks you to call in with your opinion on how Stand Your Ground laws are affecting our society. What role do groups like the American Legislative Exchange play in their enactment? Who gains and who loses? Does carrying a gun embolden people and lead to confrontations that wouldn’t have happened otherwise?

We couldn’t get to all of the calls on our show about the Trayvon Martin killing and trial of George Zimmerman that we are bringing back Attorney David Bell this time with host Jim Boyd. The Zimmerman trial has put the Stand your ground laws into the spotlight and other cases have show these laws are often applied unfairly. Resistance to these laws have prompted protests like the Dreamers who occupied the Florida Governors office for weeks trying convince him to call the legislature into session to consider repeal.
