PeaceWorks Kansas City Local Art Fair, Sept. 24-25

The 2022 PeaceWork Kansas City Local Art Fair is discussed by David Bayard, Anita Easterwood, and Bennette Dibben with Radio Active Magazine regular Spencer Graves.  David is a woodworker, poet, and photographer making greeting cards, books, calendars, prints and unique gift items.  He was the lead organizer of the 2020 online-only PeaceWorks Kansas City Local Art Fair. Anita is a portrait artist and illustrator working primarily in graphite but occasionally in inks and oil painting.  She does “Quality Artwork Grounded in Blackness“.  She is currently completing a residency at the InterUrban ArtHouse.  Bennette is an activist in PeaceWorks who has done civil resistance against nuclear weapons by crossing the property line at the new nuclear weapons plant at 14520 Botts Road, Kansas City, Missouri.  She has also protested drone warfare at Whiteman Air Force Base near Knob Noster, Missouri, from which remotely piloted vehicles (aka “drones”) are controlled.  This art fair is in Theis Park, on the south side of Emmanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, due south of the Nelson Art Gallery.
