Rabbi Moti Rieber of Kansas Interfaith Action: Updates on Kansas Climate Legislation

Speaking of climate change, a highlight of the Kansas 2019 – 2020 Legislative Session was the “Comprehensive Climate Hearing” that Kansas Interfaith Action (KIFA) held as part of WEALTH Day at the Topeka Capitol in February.

After that, almost everything that needed to be addressed this year, wasn’t. You know when KIFA is in the House (or in the Senate) the moral voice will be heard and that’s important.  The COVID-stymied last Legislative Term’s actions, however frustrating now, help to ensure KIFA will continue advocating for future progress in environmental protection.

Host Teresa Wilke talks with Reb Moti to explain the issues.  Already in front of the Kansas Legislature were bills legislating a reduction in plastic waste and coal power plants and an increase to incentives for alternative renewable fuels.  Let’s dream of bills to improve our economic health with green business incentives and to fully fund the  Kansas Water Act.

We are all part of this.  Tune in to learn the issues, the facts and how you can help.   Call in with your opinions.
