EcoRadio KC
EcoRadio KC is a magazine show, including live segments, prerecorded stories, and interviews. The weekly explores our interdependence with the rest of the world, showing the connections between the ways we choose to live and the health of the whole community of life.
Ty Gorman started in May as the Sierra Club Campaign Representative with the Beyond Coal Campaign in Kansas. Ty grew up in East Tennessee fighting coal plants in the mountains near his home and has worked on climate change mitigation and adaptation projects for the last 15 years. He first volunteered with the Sierra Club Beyond Coal Campaign in 2013 helping to close Duke Energy’s Asheville, NC coal-fired power plant, the largest single source of carbon emissions in Western North Carolina.
Ty got to know Kansas while taking annual trips to visit his childhood friend who has been working in Olathe since 2012. He now lives in Roeland Park, where he loves running and bicycling around the city. This is our chance to meet him and have him tell us his plans for our better future.
