9 Little Girls: Indian Mission Schools and Family Separation

Three of the “9 Little Girls” who grew up in St. Paul’s Catholic Mission Boarding School for Indian children on the Yankton Sioux Reservation, describe physical, sexual, and mental abuses they remember being subjected to.

Michelle Echols, their advocate, explains attempts to bring these crimes to trial and the greater meaning of these cases in light of current events and the dangers of separating children from their parents.
