EcoRadio KC is a magazine show, including live segments, prerecorded stories, and interviews. The weekly explores our interdependence with the rest of the world, showing the connections between the ways we choose to live and the health of the whole community of life.
On our show for February 8th, host Jon Hokenson speaks with Mattie Bell of the Sunrise Movement Lawrence. Sunrise Movement Lawrence is a local hub of the national Sunrise Movement organization. The Sunrise Movement is a youth movement to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process. They are building an army of young people to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and well-being of all people. They are working on all fronts, social and political. They grow power through talking to our communities. They are people from all paths of life. They seek change by shining bright. They strive to bring a spirit of positivity and hope to everything we do. Changing the world is a fulfilling and joyful process, and Sunrise Movement lets that show.
