Tasty Brew Music – Terry Lee Cain – In Memoriam

Terry Cain was a dedicated listener and supporter of KKFI and the Tasty Brew Music Radio Show. He died suddenly and completely unexpectedly last week. The July 9 Tasty Brew Music Show will be dedicated to Terry and his family. From the beginning, Terry messaged or called Host Diana Linn nearly every week with words of support, suggestions for new music to listen to and gratitude for music to which he was introduced. Diana Linn and Terry were only a week apart in age, both lost loves to cancer and adored Golden Retrievers. Diana Linn had Terry in her home for house concerts and met occasionally at shows. What Diana Linn did not know was the extent to which Terry shared the love of the show and the music with his family. His daughter has shared how proud he was to financially support KKFI during Pledge Drives, how they listened to the show together and were lifted up when they received a special birthday or thank you shout out. What an honor to know that their lives and memories are accompanied by the simple pleasure of the music KKFI and The Tasty Brew was able to bring to them. Diana Linn is so very appreciative of Terry’s daughter for taking the time to contact her personally at this profound moment of grief. This week’s playlist will attempt to be worthy of such support from a lovely man and his family. Rest in Peace Terry Lee Cain. We hope to see you on the other side around a campfire being serenaded by Doc Watson and Guy Clark.

This week’s in studio guest is Terri Laddusaw from the duo Sissy and Earl.  Terri is a singer of songs, a teller of tales and plays a little guitar.
Her musical influences are far and wide. She is a country singer, first and foremost; but is influenced by a variety of musicians and songwriters and genres…folks like Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Johnny Cash, The Carter Family, Gillian Welch, Kasey Chambers, Tim O’Brien, Buddy & Julie Miller, Kathy Mattea, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Judds, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, The Beatles, Elton John, Carly Simon, James Taylor, The Eagles, Vince Gill, Patty Loveless. She has a deep love for music with the belief that if it moves you, it’s good music.

Music is a healer. Music matters.
