The Tenth Voice (LGBTQIA)
The Tenth Voice is the Kansas City area's only weekly broadcast created by and for LGBTQIA+ people in our community in the Greater Kansas City area and around the world online. Listeners can tune in each Saturday at 1:00 PM. Each week our team of hosts and producers present interviews, information, music, news and features especially important to Lesbians, Gay Men, Bisexuals, Transgender & Nonbinary people, Queer, Intersex, Asexual & Aromantic people and Allied collective communities. Since 1989, The Tenth Voice radio show has documented and informed the LGBTQIA+ Kansas City Community.
It is the third Saturday of the month and time again for Show People on The Tenth Voice. Join host Michael Grayman-Parkhurst as we re-air our October 2022 episode with Lindsey Rood-Clifford, who became CEO and President of our local Starlight Theatre two weeks ago.
Lindsey is a lifetime Kansas Citian and the first woman CEO (not that it should matter) of a major theatre organization. She has been with Starlight since 2007 and brings a wealth of historical knowledge of the organization, experience in philanthropy and external relations, and event management. At the time of the original airing, she served as the C.O.O + V.P. of Philanthropy of Starlight. She succeeded Rich Baker upon his coming retirement.
Starlight is dedicated to producing, presenting, and promoting an exceptional art experience by delivering accessible live entertainment for all audiences, superior theatre arts education, impactful outreach programs, and events that utilize this iconic city-owned venue.
