The Tenth Voice (LGBTQIA)
The Tenth Voice is the Kansas City area's only weekly broadcast created by and for LGBTQIA+ people in our community in the Greater Kansas City area and around the world online. Listeners can tune in each Saturday at 1:00 PM. Each week our team of hosts and producers present interviews, information, music, news and features especially important to Lesbians, Gay Men, Bisexuals, Transgender & Nonbinary people, Queer, Intersex, Asexual & Aromantic people and Allied collective communities. Since 1989, The Tenth Voice radio show has documented and informed the LGBTQIA+ Kansas City Community.
Greetings! Welcome, to the first episode of The Tenth Voice – Trans Talk for 2021. We have a jam packed show this week that you will not want to miss. We start with a news rant from Una, follow up with a conversation with the amazing Erika Dapkewicz, after that a discussion of the documentary Disclosure and end with Fiona and the community calendar.
Our guest Erika is a fascinating and very talented woman.She is currently the Lead Editor on the SONY Animated Pictures & Lin-Manuel Miranda musical, “VIVO”. She is an ACE, ASCAP, WIA and Academy Awards Member.
During her career Erika has helped create such DISNEY films as (Lilo & Stitch – Mulan – Pocahontas) and DREAMWORKS films (The Croods – Puss In Boots – Monsters Vs Aliens – Flushed Away)
In addition to Animation and editing, Erika has written and directed many live action short films including the 2012 sci-fi feature film, “PARADOX ALICE” for Orchard Pictures.
Erika has a YouTube Channel with 150k subs and goes by the handle, Miss Mako. Erika is also a music composer
and musician, and is in a professional indie band called, “IMAGINARIUS”.
If you have trouble finding Erika’s name in past credits – it’s because she started transitioning
from Eric to Erika in 2014.
