The Tenth Voice (LGBTQIA)
The Tenth Voice is the Kansas City area's only weekly broadcast created by and for LGBTQIA+ people in our community in the Greater Kansas City area and around the world online. Listeners can tune in each Saturday at 1:00 PM. Each week our team of hosts and producers present interviews, information, music, news and features especially important to Lesbians, Gay Men, Bisexuals, Transgender & Nonbinary people, Queer, Intersex, Asexual & Aromantic people and Allied collective communities. Since 1989, The Tenth Voice radio show has documented and informed the LGBTQIA+ Kansas City Community.
The host, Sandra Meade, will be joined in the studio again by co-host JD. First they’ll interview Una Nowling, who is a prolific researcher and writer. The topic will be transgender people and religion – an interesting and sometimes emotional topic. Next up, Sandra and JD will be joined by Luke Harness and they’ll chat about dating in the transgender community. Dating for trans people can be complicated and full of potential land mines (not literal land mines – you know what I mean), so it will be fun breaking down the challenges and approaches to dating for the transgender community.
The show will start out with the news researched by Philip Hooser and end with a rundown of the community calendar.
