This program is an update of an archival recording of a 1994 Indigenous Women’s Network conference on sustainable communities, held at White Earth. The recording is of two-spirited women talking about prejudice and acceptance, leadership, AIDS, and tradition. Conference co-organizer, Marsha Gomez, also discusses the growing two-spirit acceptance in an interview. Featured speakers are: Tahnahga Yako Myers, Mohawk/Anishinabe, indigenous counselor and healer; Bonnie Blackwolf, Blackfeet nation, human rights activist, person With AIDS; and, Marsha Gomez, a Founding Mother of the Indigenous Women’s Network and sculptor.
