Dr. Sirisha Naidu, UMKC Professor in Economics, Discusses Environmental Injustice

Dr. Sirisha Naidu is currently an Associate Professor and advisor for the MA program in Economics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Dr. Naidu earned a Ph.D. and an M.A. at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, an M.Sc. at Madras School of Economics, Chennai, India and a B.A. at Stella Maris College, Chennai, India. Dr. Naidu has taught economics, and women, gender and sexuality studies at UMKC, Wright State University (Dayton, OH), and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA.

Her research interest include Ecological Economics, Environment and Development, and Gender and Environmental Development. Dr. Naidu’s teaching interests include Economic Development, Political Economy of the Environment, and Feminist Economics. She is the author of many scholarly works on female labor and global economics.
