Update on U.S. and Israeli Elections; The #SaveShadi Campaign

Beth Miller, political director of Jewish Voice for Peace Action, discusses the recent elections in the United States and in Israel; Jonathan Kuttab, international human rights lawyer and director of Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA), discusses the case of Shadi Khoury. The 16-year-old student at the Friends School in Ramallah was taken from his home in the middle of the night October 18 and is now being held in Israeli military detention along with four other Palestinian youths, all of them deprived of access to a lawyer and contact with family. Kuttab explains how and why Israel targets Palestinian minors in an effort to break the spirit of resistance. He notes that terrorizing youth is an almost inevitable by-product of the apartheid system Israel has created. Hundreds of Palestinian young people between the ages of 12-17 languish in indefinite detention in harsh conditions prohibited by international law.
