Voices Raised – Honoring the 19th Amendment and Womens’ Equality Week

The August 25th edition of The Tasty Brew Music Radio Show will feature music that accompanied and continues to sustain the fight for women’s right to vote and be heard…celebrating the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution AND Women’s Equality Week.  Music had and continues to have a role in promoting the right to vote, pay equity and the elimination of sexual assault and domestic violence.  Music continues to inspire us to continue to participate in our representative democracy.  The playlist was curated with the assistance of Carol Smith of Rosy’s Bar and Grill, a Kansas City-based feminist band founded in 1977.   Featured will be songs through the decades that have inspired and supported women on the front lines marching and taking action – working for social and economic justice, especially greater equality for women and the men and children in their lives.
