Other Americans + HMPH!
+ Sondra Freeman & Apocalypse Meow 12

Mark plays more New & MidCoastal releases from: Headlight Rivals, Carswell & Hope, Other Americans, Scott Hrabko & The Rabbits, HMPH!, NuBlvckCity, Shy Boys, The Sluts, Iris DeMent, Slights, and Kristie Stremel & The 159ers.

At 10:30 Mark welcomes Julie Berndsen, Brandon Phillips, and Adam Phillips of the Kansas City/Lawrence band, Other Americans who just released their second EP OA2, with Michelle Bacon on bass. OA2 was produced by Brandon Phillips, engineered by Joel Nanos, and recorded at Element Recording Studios in Kansas City. Other Americans are comprised of members of such regional luminaries as The Architects, Latenight Callers, The Philistines, Radar State and Brandon Phillips and The Condition.

At 11:00 Ryan Lee Toms, Jonathan Thatch, and Kitten Adventure Boggs of the math-rock outfit, HMPH! share music from their second album, the self-titled “HMPH!” to be released worldwide on November 15, 2019. HMPH! (the album) features the band’s signature math-rock sound with a progressive rock and avant-jazz twist. The songs on HMPH! are more sprawling than on 2015’s Headrush, with lots of detours and left turns along the way. This album also features heavy bass lines provided by Kitten Adventure Boggs, a significant addition since their first record. HMPH! play a Record Release Party on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 8:00 PM, at Farewell Transmission, 6515 Stadium Drive, KCMO, with Shiny Jets, Jorge Arana Trio, and Dan Ohm.
