Mark plays more New & Local Releases from: The ACB’s, Tiny Horse, The Wires, Me Like Bees, Fourth of July, Shy Boys, Christopher Owens, Krief, The Postal Service, Divine Fits, Johnny Marr, Jimbo Mathus & The Tri-State Coalition, Veronica Falls, and Beach Fossils.

At 10:15, Mark talks LIVE with Jimbo Mathus, who’ll be in KC on Friday, March 8, at Knuckleheads with Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. Over his 40-some years in the music business, Jimbo Mathus has played mandolin in his family band, participated in the South Memphis early punk scene with Jack Oblivion, co-founded the Squirrel Nut Zippers, and was nominated for two Grammy Awards. Jimbo also worked as a river barge deckhand and wandered the U.S. alone to get a feel for the music and people. His new album “White Buffalo” was recorded with producer Steve Earle.

At 10:30 The ACB’s join us LIVE in the 90.1 FM studios. Konnor Ervin, Bryan McGuire, Andrew Connor, and Kyle Rausch will talk with us about their new full length release: “Little Leaves” from High Dive Records. Their songs have been featured on MTV’s The Inbetweeners, and on Daytrotter. The lead single, “Ocean” was released in late 2012, prompting Popmatters to declare The ACB’s as one of its “Best Hopes to Break Out in 2013.” The ACB’s play a Record Release Show, Friday, March 1, 7:00 PM, at the recordBar, 1020 Westport Rd, with Fourth Of July. The ACB’s also play Vinyl Renaissance, on West 39th Street, on Saturday, March 9, at 1:00 PM.

At 11:15 Mark talks with writer, director, and performer, Stephanie Roberts and company members of the UMKC Theatre production, Eat This! KC Chews on the Politics of Food, with preview performances March 1 – 5, Opening on March 6, and continuing through March 10, in Studio 116, of the Olson Performing Arts Center, at 4949 Cherry at UMKC. We’ll also feature music from artists performing for the JJ’s Benefit at The Uptown Theatre, Tuesday, March 5.
