At 10:15 David George shares new music from Volker Brothers new EP Wrecking Ball, to be released on June 28. This is the second EP from Erik Voeks and David George, two rock and roll brothers who play guitar and harmonized on their own pop-folk-rock songs influenced by The Everly Brothers to Elvis Costello from XTC to the Finn Brothers. The new Volker Brothers EP was recorded at Weights and Measures Sound Lab with engineer Duane Trower, with Matt Richey on drums, Lin Buck on keys, and Rick Willoughby on bass. Volker Brothers Play an EP Release Show Thursday, June 27, at 7:30 in The Gospel Lounge at Knuckleheads.
At 10:35 Bill Sundahl shares details about Collaborations Live!, Saturday, June 29, at 8:00 PM at The Folly Theatre, 300 West 12th St, KCMO. Collaborations Live! brings together 13 never before seen performances on the historic Folly Stage. The show begins with two songs, then one artists exits the stage and a second collaborator joins the remaining artist to perform two more songs, and then one leaves and is joined by another artist for two more songs. Collaborations Live! includes: Quixotic Performers, Maria Cuevas (of Maria the Mexican), The Wires, Jessica Paige, Mark Lowrey, Rick Kloog, Kelly Hunt, Traditional Music Society, Fanny and Ryan Head, Ceili at the Crossroads, SugEasy, VJDN8, and Casey Key. Dick Von Dyke has been a male impersonator since 2014 and was named King of Pride St. Louis Pride in 2018.
