What is Happening to the Waters of the United States?

This week we get an update on the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) Rule that have been changed to weaken our health protections over the past year.  It’s been a year since EPA held its only public hearing in KC, KS on proposals to change the rules.  The discussion will be moderated by Host Richard Mabion.   Our guests are Elaine Giessel and Debbie Neustadt who both have done great work with the Sierra Club.  We’ll hear how this rule change muddies our water, stripping many of the intended benefits of the Clean Water Act. Other recent changes to our regulatory protections will be discussed as we find out the state of our water and what we can do to protect it.

Founded in 1892, the Sierra Club has grown and evolved dramatically during its more than 125 years of existence. During that time, many gifted and dedicated men and women have helped to shape the organization’s direction, while the Club itself has played an important role in influencing conservation policy and environmental history.
