In 2008, we weathered the loss of Liam O’Flynn, uillean piper andĀ founding member of Planxty (3/14/2018); Clarence Fountain, leader of Blind Boys of Alabama (6/3/2018); American blues guitarist Matt ‘Guitar’ Murphy (6/15/2018); Vince Martin, American Folksinger and songwriter; Irish fiddler Tommy Peoples, 8/4/2018; Aretha Franklin, the ‘Queen of Soul’ (8/16/2018); Otis Rush, guitarist, singer/songwriter, and Blues Hall of Fame Inductee (9/29/2018); Tony Joe White, American singer/songwriterĀ and guitarist (10/24/2018); Micheal O Suilleabhain, Irish musician, composer, academic, and educationalistĀ (11/7/2018); Roy Clark, country music singer,songwriter and host of He Haw (11/15/2018); Alec Finn, founding member of De Dannan (11/16/2018); Hawaiian singer andĀ slack-key guitarist CyrilĀ Pahinui (11/17/2018); Lewis Caddick, English folksinger, guitarist, and member of Home Service (11/19/2019);Ā  and Roy Bailey, MBE, English Socialist folksinger and member of fold supergroup Three City Four (11/20/2018).
