At 10:35 Mark talks with Mica-Elgin Vi who is a founding member of the band, Modern Day Fitzgerald who released their new album, MEET ME ON ARMOUR ROAD, on September 13, 2023. This is a concept/rock opera that takes place on Armour Road in North Kansas City, Missouri. This is a love and hate letter to the music scene. From playing a late night show in a small run down club to waking up early to go to back to work. The album deals with the excitement of being in the music scene, falling in and out of love, the stress of wanting to be recognized and heard, and the burnout. The majority of the album was recorded in a studio inside a music venue on Armour Road with producer Alex Garnett. At 11:00, Shaun Crowley of Manor Records shares details on how Manor Records has found a new home for their non-profit record store in the West Bottoms, in the basement of the 12th Street Post Building on 12th & Liberty. This building also houses many other makers and businesses including West Bottoms Plant Company and Cafe Ca Phe! Manor Records will be having a Grand Opening on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM at 1501 West 12th Street, KCMO WEST BOTTOMS. Manor Records will be open and selling records at their normal time of 11:00 AM and then staying open LATE for a celebration event featuring live music starting at 6:00 PM from: True Lions, Supermoto, and Khrystal. At 11:30, Jeffrey Stolz & Wallace Cochran, share details about their new musical project The Frightened Stag and their upcoming theatrical production, THE EXULTANT STAG on Friday, Sept. 22 at 7:00 PM, Saturday Sept. 23 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and Sunday, Sept. 24 at 7:00 PM, at Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St., Lawrence, KS. THE EXULTANT STAG is an off-beat musical comedy aiming to de-stigmatize mental health struggles and celebrate the bravery of seeking professional support and guidance. Written by Jeff Stolz, this original play takes us through the world of Roman mythology combined with live dance and brand-new indie rock music by Stolz’s band, The Frightened Stag with a line-up of all-star back-up vocalists: Heidi Gluck, Hannah Novaria, & Raven Naramore. THE EXULTANT STAG doubles as a vinyl release show of the soundtrack featuring all the songs from the play by The Stag, including a new single by Stolz’s long-term collaboration with Wallace Cochran, and Drakkar Sauna.
