At 11:00 Shawn Saving of “Kansas City’s no-bullshit, class-conscious punk rock and rollers, Red Kate” joins us to share music and information about the band’s third LP, EXIT STRATEGY. Addressing issues as varied as American exceptionalism (“Home of the Slave”), anti-intellectualism (“Don’t Think Too Much”), provincial conservatism (“Escape Room”), and technological dehumanization (“Lost Connection”), Exit Strategy holds a mirror up to our self-absorbed, narcissistic society, a society so easily manipulated and exploited through tribalism and fear that it makes one doubt that progress is actually possible (“No Solution”). Red Kate plays miniBar, 3810 Broadway, KCMO on Wednesday, November 22 with The Uncouth and the return of KC hardcore legends, Second Chance. Red Kate plays Replay Lounge, 946 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, KS on Friday, December 1, 2023, with special guests Jackoffs and Sarkatha. More info at: black-site.org/red-kate and redkate.bandcamp.com
