At 10:15 we welcome Brook Worlledge, Stephanie Bankston, and Mia Morrow, who join us to talk about their new band Boxknife, a queer dark-pop band from Kansas City formed from the ashes of the band Lovergurl. Boxknife are releasing their EP, MANIFESTERING on July 29, 2022 with a special EP Release Show at Lemonade Park, 1628 Wyoming, KCMO, West Bottoms, at 7:00 PM with The Creepy Jingles & Collidescope. At 10:35 Mark welcomes Cooper Scott of Jean Claude & The Eclairs, an Alternative Pop/Rock band, based in Lawrence, KS., formed in 2016. The band includes: Cooper Scott on vocals, Garrison Krotz on bass, and Quinn Maetzold on drums, with Ryan Pollock on guitar. At 11:00 Stacy Busch shares details about The 3rd Annual Queer Narratives Festival a week-long fest that includes performances, vendors, craftspeople, food trucks, a visual exhibit along with artist-led workshops, talkbacks, meetups and open mics, August 1-6, 2022, at The Black Box in the West Bottoms, 1060 Union Ave. KCMO. Stacy Busch is a queer composer & performer who utilizes her voice with electronics to build unique sound worlds. Stacy is a 2020 Charlotte Street Foundation Generative Artist Fellow. She is the cofounder and President of No Divide KC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that uses the arts as a vehicle for stimulating social awareness, participation and community building. At 11:30 Kadesh Flow joins us to talk about his new single, “Away From You.” Kadesh tells us “I’ve been a little quiet from a release stand point because I’ve been scoring a feature length film.” “This song is… inspired by Eren Yeager and his tragic, brutal journey in “Attack on Titan,” but is also deeply personal to me. There’s a lot of current world problem glazing that I’m doing on it as well.” “Also, June 30 marks five years since I left my financial tech career to pursue my performing and recording artist career full time.” Kadesh released the new single on July 1st, 2022partially in celebration of that milestone.
