At 11:30 Mark talks with Marty Bush about his new studio album, “Cowboy Chords” to be released October 13, 2023. Hailing from the plains of eastern Kansas, Marty Bush is a torchbearer of the American songwriting tradition. His influences include Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley, & Kris Kristofferson. While his 2022 solo debut “The Long Way Home” established him as a devout follower of the country & western songwriting tradition, his follow-up LP “Cowboy Chords” takes a bold step forward in establishing his voice as both a songwriter and performer. Serving as producer & engineer, Bush plays every instrument on the album with the exception of pedal steel, performed by Devon Teran of the KC band Timbers. Bush played over 250 shows in 2022. He continued into 2023, testing material in dives, honky-tonks, and juke-joints all over the US. More info at: www.marty-bush.com
