Stephanie Carey’s career in journalism includes her work as a reporter for newspapers and radio, as well as serving as a sales manager for media software and consulting firm Second Street. At 11:00 Mark welcomes KC based singer-songwriter, Amy Marcus who in January released her new single, “Sweater” and will premiere another new single on the show. Amy Marcus was born and raised in Kansas City. She has been writing songs since she was a child. In 2016 she released her debut 5-song EP “Brave” and followed that up with the single, “I Want More For My Daughters” in 2017. Amy Marcus studied photography at the Kansas City Art Institute. She is a mother of three and works as a professional photographer and chef. Amy is currently working on a new EP set for release this year.

At 11:30 Jeff Harshbarger shares music from Purna Loka Ensemble‘s debut “Metaraga” released though Origin Records on January 17, 2020. Along with Purna Loka, Jeff Harshbarger has recorded and performed with: Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Bobby Watson, Forever Tango, Milt Abel, Tango Lorca, Krystle Warren, Brad Cox, Ghosty, and The People’s Liberation Big Band. Jeff is a co-founder of Tzigane Music, an artist-run record label, and is the curator of Jeff Harshbarger Presents: An Alternative Jazz Series, promoting new improvised music in KC. Jeff has received The Kennedy Center’s Betty Carter Fellowship, the Steans Institute Fellowship, and the 2015 Charlotte Street Generative Performing Artist Award.
