At 10:15 Kimmie Queen and Cody Wyoming from The Philistines join us to share the broadcast radio premiere of the new single from their project, The Guillotine Choir, an electronic rock band they have created with Justin Muschinske of The Widows Ride. Invoking the imagery of a late night journey through a cold war Berlin, the synthesizers sizzle and crash and beat against the wall, as the music searches for signs of light and freedom across dark urban landscapes. Kimmie and Cody share details about “What Tomorrow Brings” their new single from The Guillotine Choir.

At 10:30 Mark welcomes They Call Me Sauce back to the show. Royce “Sauce” Handy is a rapper, songwriter, beat maker, designer, teacher, MC, business owner, social media manager, husband, father, and community organizer. He has worked with the AdHoc Group Against Crime, Teens in Transition, Arts Tech, Mid-America Regional Council, UMKC, and Representative Brandon Ellington. Sauce has collaborated with visual artists, and the hip hop community. In 2017 Sauce released his EP, Summer Sauce which was part of WMM’s 117 Best Recordings of 2017. In 2018 Sauce released his album Soul Food 4. In 2019 his collective, NuBvckCity, with Kartez Marcel, Love Mae C, and VP3 released the singles, “All Night” and “Alive” through The Record Machine. At 11:00 KC based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nicole Springer discusses her new single & video “Come Clean” from her EP Willing. Nicole Springer is the founder of award wining local groups, The Clementines, and The Good Hearts. Nicole Springer is a 2019 Pitch KC nominee for Best Vocalist. At 11:30 Mark talks with Ivory Blue who recently released the single “Elite Dreamland.” Ivory Blue has been in the studio working on a new 10-song album called, “Compound Love.” Ivory Blue’s EP Ready Get Set was released in 2015. In 2017 Ivory was among 1800 bands that competed in neXt2Rock Ivory won local & regional challenges and advanced to nationals in Los Angeles where Ivory won the top prize. Ivory has played Crossroads Music Fest, The Middle of the Map, The Westport Roots Festival, the KCPT Screening of “Real Boy” at KC Public Library. Born in 1986 in Peoria Illinois, given up for adoption at the age of four, it was difficult to find trust after living with eight different foster families. Running away at 15, Ivory moved from Indiana to Oklahoma to Seattle and in 2011 Ivory landed safely in Kansas City. More info at: www.ivorybluemusic.com
