At 10:15 we talk with Fally Afani, an award-winning journalist with a career spanning nearly 30 years in media, working extensively in radio, television, newspapers, & magazines. She has received several Kansas Association of Broadcasters awards and an Edward R. Murrow award for her online work in journalism. Fally recently received her Masters Degree from the University of Kansas. Fally lives in Lawrence, Kansas, where she reports on local & touring musicians and is the editor & founder of, I Heart Local Music providing info for music lovers in Lawrence. At 10:30 we talk with Cuee a Lawrence based hip-hop artist and rapper. Cuee received his Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Kansas. Cuee is also a graduate of Artist Inc. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Cuee has wowed audiences in Lawrence and Kansas City with exciting live performances. And since 2017 Cuee has released two critically acclaimed albums, an EP, multiple singles, and is releasing a new album called GOSPEL this week. At 11:00 Mark talks with Calvin Arsenia who came home to KC in 2014 after living in Edinburgh, Scotland. His EPs: Moments, Prose, Catastrophe, Caviar, and album Catastrophe led him to being signed to Center Cut Records where he released the albums Cantaloupe in 2018, and L.A. Sessions in 2019, along with the EP HONEY DEW, an EP with Quixotic, and the Holiday album, ALL IS CALM. In 2020 Calvin released new music on the Soundtrack to “Summer in Hindsight,” a collaborative feature-length film created by The West 18th Street Fashion Show and Film Society KC that also starred Calvin as an actor. Voted KC’s Best Musician in The Pitch in 2018, and 2020, and featured in Billboard, NPR.org, and GRAMMY.com, Calvin’s classically trained voice, visually striking 6-foot-6 presence, and deft harp playing have built his reputation as a live performer. At 11:30 AM Greg LaFollette talks about his new singles “Learning To Fly” and “Graceland” that will be on his upcoming album, THESE DAYS. Singer songwriter, teacher, Greg LaFollette moved to Kansas City from Nashville in the summer of 2020. Greg LaFollette plays with Summer Breeze: a Tribute to Yacht Rock, with Billy Brimblecom and is in the house band for Thundergong! the annual fundraiser-concert for Steps of Faith Foundation. Greg LaFollette has had over 2,000,000 plays on Spotify and has been involved in more than one hundred records in his career. He has been featured in multiple prominent podcasts and published in CCM Magazine, The Rabbit Room, Relevant Magazine, and The Gospel Coalition. His previous records have garnered much attention and have been supported by church partnerships across the US.
