Woodyfest, Wilson and Peeples – Oh my!

Diana Linn usually attends the annual Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, “Woodyfest,” in Okemah, Oklahoma but this year it is not to be. The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival is held annually in mid-July to commemorate the life and music of Woody Guthrie. The festival is held on the weekend closest to July 14 – the date of Guthrie’s birth – in Guthrie’s hometown of Okemah, Oklahoma.  Daytime main stage performances are held at the Crystal Theater and the Pastures of Plenty day stage. Evening main stage performances are held outdoors at the Pastures of Plenty.

Diana Linn will share the next best thing…a radio show dedicated to the Americana icon and some of the artists performing at Woodyfest this year with special guest troubadour, Grant Peeples,  calling into the program from Okemah.  If the airline layover gods cooperate, listeners will also hear via telephone on the air from Texas Troubadour and Woodyfest alum, Jamie Lin Wilson.
