WORK TO ABOLISH ATROCITIES – DEATH PENALTY AND CHILD HUNGER

On the first half of the 9-12-22 Jaws of Justice, host Craig Lubow speaks with Rick Halperin, Director of Southern Methodist University’s Human Rights Program and a recognized international authority on the death penalty, genocide, slavery, human trafficking, torture and human rights.

He is a past Chair of the Board of Directors of Amnesty International, a global organization that campaigns to end abuses of human rights. He served on the Board of Directors for several organizations, including the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty and the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty.  He will be discussing some additional death penalty factors and is with Amnesty International. Particularly in light of the executions scheduled and occurring in Missouri and Oklahoma, on Jaws of Justice, we help you to know more about the movement to abolish the death penalty.

We’ll play the calendar at the midpoint of our hour and then host Melvin Merritt will speak with his guest, Christine Evans, Executive Director of the Feed Northland Kids about issues of hungry children in our communities.  They have a unique organization focused on addressing weekend nutrition and hunger by providing healthy, kid-friendly foods for school-age children living in the Northland of Kansas City, MO.

On Jaws of Justice, we examine how to find justice in our society.  Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.
