In our second half-hour Crystal Everett, host of Conversations with Crystal, interviews (during the Covid shutdown) Deidre Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of United Inner City Services (now named EarlystART), a non-profit which provides early education for low-income children.

In our first half-hour segment, host Leslie Scott interviews Rachel Russell who currently serves as the Director of Community Engagement for Cross-Lines Community Outreach in Wyandotte County and is also serving as a board member for the Kansas City KS Public Schools. Cross-Lines Community Outreach addresses food and housing insecurities.
Our second segment features Pauline Eatmon Johnson, CEO and owner of local non-profit Scholar Smarts Educational and Employment Systems, Inc. (https://scholarsmarts.com/) which focuses on bridging under-served, under-resourced populations with community resources and training to enhance family lifestyles.

"The Making of America," explores myths perpetrated by our history books that present a history from the vantage point of the colonizer and victor and omits the real cost of millions of indigenous lives in the making of this country. It critiques the celebration of Columbus Day and Thanksgiving without presenting the true account of the carnage resulting from the arrival of the European settlers.
