Diesel exhaust is heating the planet and harming communities plagued by heavy truck traffic. A coalition of environmental justice, health, green and labor groups brought moving testimony to the California Air Resources Board and got the state to double the speed of transition to zero emissions heavy duty vehicles. California’s Advanced Clean Truck Rule is part of the state’s plan to get diesel trucks off the road by 2045. It has since been adopted by 5 other states.
