Should the slogan “Good Jobs for All” include the disabled?  In Missouri it’s not so clear. This week on the Heartland Labor Forum we’ll hear from Representative Bridget Walsh Moore on the availability and prognosis for jobs for differently abled citizens. Then, Doug Crandell, author of Twenty-Two Cents an Hour: Disability Rights and the Fight to End Subminimum Wages, uncovers the harsh reality of people with disabilities in the United States who are forced to work in unethical conditions for subminimum wages with little or no opportunity to advocate for themselves. We’ll ask him is there a US disability industrial complex, how such unjust policies came about and who benefits. Our feature is Know Your Rights with Michael Amash.
