Slovenia is a social democracy that seceded from the Yugoslav Federation about 30 years ago. Just as the pandemic arrived there, the government changed hands without an election from a neoliberal-headed coalition to one led by a right-wing proto-fascist. Desperate and angry members of the public have been demonstrating for more than 10 weeks.
