Women’s Agenda to Save the Planet – Part 1

30 years ago in Miami, 1500 women from around the world made a plan. They held a tribunal and a think tank to plan for sustainability of life on earth, forming demands for the UN Rio Summit on Environment and Development. Only today is everyone seeing the disaster they predicted and perhaps ready to adopt the measures they describe. Speakers: The late Bella Abzug, former US Congresswoman and founder of the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO); Peggy Antrobus, of Barbados, co-founder of DAWN (Development Alternatives with Women in a New Era), and author of The Global Women’s Movement: Issues and Strategies for the New Century; and many other women.
