10th Voice: The Road Ahead

NEW YEAR, NEW CHALLENGES… and the Tenth Voice has a group of people to chat about it all!

Michael Poppa was the chair for Equality Kansas and was a strong advocate for Roeland Park’s anti-discrimination ordinance, which passed in 2014. The next year, Poppa ran for a seat on Roeland Park’s City Council — beat his opponent by just five votes. A former member of The Tenth Voice team, it is exciting to welcome Michael back on the air!

Johnda Boyce is a fairly recent immigrant from Springfield where she was an attorney, was on the board of PFLAG Springfield, and a long-time advocate for LGBT equality. She was heavily involved in the fight to pass an inclusive nondiscrimination ordinance in Springfield, and she worked tirelessly to keep that ordinance during the NO Repeal Campaign. She is currently working in Poverty Law at Legal Aid of Western Missouri. Johnda was recently heard on the Sandra Moran Alphabet Soup Book Club’s panel for the novel “The Hours.”

Dr. Bob Minor is the author of at least 8 books on a variety of topics, the founder of The Fairness Project, and is a national resource for information on gender issues and gay/straight relationships for organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and media outlets such as NBC and USA Today, Robert N. Minor, Ph.D. has been speaking, consulting, and leading workshops for twenty years.
He is Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies at the University of Kansas where he taught for thirty-three years and was the chair of the Religious Studies Department for six.
