ALEXEI SAVREUX lives and works in Kansas City, Missouri) is an artist, comedian, poet, and critic, holds a BA in Communications from Ottawa University, cum laude, and has undertaken apprenticeships in linguistics, sociology, philosophy, film and media arts, journalism, and theatre. His written work and visual work have been published and exhibited widely in such periodicals as Writer’s Digest, Cracked, The Berkley Press, The Kansas City Fringe Festival, The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture (City of Boston, MA), The Washington Post, Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University in the City of New York, the division of social sciences at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS, and the linguistics departments at the University of Kansas and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Savreux is a longtime affiliate of Wilshire Press, Wingless Dreamer Publishing House in Scotland, among others. He has been in residence at the Unlucky Rabbit Art Studio (Kansas City, MO), and the Institute For Cultural Entrepreneurship at the State University of New York at Oneonta (Oneonta, NY). His longstanding artistic objective is to unite art and academia through expanded media forms including film, photography, video art, monologue comedy, poetry, sound engineering, trash art, and graffiti to create works that attempt to reflect the beauty in things most would consider ugly or unlikely. His current editorial practice focuses on the sociology of mental illness, social and political philosophy, complex analysis, philosophy of mathematics, media theory, psychoanalysis, and neopragmatism.

PATRICIA WILLIAMS- President CinemaKC- “WWCB: What We Can Be”, CinemaKC presents a World Theatrical Premiere at Planet Comicon KC on Sunday, August 22 at 3P. It’s a documentary film by a former student, Nicholas Young (now owner/operator of Cairn Productions), and examines cosplay and the impact on people seeking self, community, and sexual identity.
2. Williams just finished describing “The Illusionists” at Starlight Saturday night. Prior to that, she described the silent film, “Un Chien d’Andalou” at Free State Festival. She will describe the “Escape to Margaritaville” at the Starlight in September and am seeking to integrate description into the KC MOlière fest event, as well as CinemaKC. Williams works with Audio-Reader Network in Lawrence. It’s a free and funded service.
3. Williams serves on the Board of Directors of the U.N. Association of GKC. We will have U.N. Peacekeepers here in September and the Mayor’s Dinner in October, at which Quinton and AY Young will guest.
4. Williams is also on the Board of Directors of KC MOlière: 400 in 2022. Philip ‘blue owl’ Hooser’s play was commissioned them for the MO Bicentennial but creating ongoing theatre, music, dance, education events to honor the upcoming 400th birthday of the comic 17th c. playwright, MOlière. Next up is an August 13 performance of KC Baroque Consortium. We have a wine being issued with the help of Doug Frost and a Molière pastry from Andre’s – both in the Fall. Plays at Avila Jewell, KState, KC Actors Theatre, Unicorn. Opera by Landlocked Opera. A big January 15, 2022 celebration at the Nelson.
