Every Woman • December, 19th 2020 • Kris Wade Fighting for Justice

Today on Every Woman we are going to speak with Kris Wade, one of the Executive Directors and founders of the Justice Project of Kansas City. The mission of the Justice Project, a peer-based nonprofit human rights organization, is to provide criminal justice and social systems advocacy and navigation for women in poverty who may be suffering from a multitude of challenges, including homelessness, discrimination, addiction, mental illness, domestic violence, prostitution or other forms of sexual exploitation. Since 2007 the dedicated volunteers at the Justice Project have helped positively change the lives of more than one hundred women from the streets of Kansas City.

This year has presented extraordinary challenges to a population that is already at-risk under the best of times, and Kris will talk about how the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic slump have disproportionately impacted those who need help the most, and how the Justice Project has done its best to adapt to the changes and challenges of 2020 and the year to come.
