Goldpine (Ben and Kassie Wilson) and Sonia Hall (Innovation Festival) join Host Diana Linn on this week’s Tasty Brew Music Radio Show.
Formerly known as My One and Only, Benjamin and Kassie Wilson have reimagined their “southern-soul,” “curious-grit” and emotionally honest lyrics into Americana duo, Goldpine. After nearly a decade of honing in on their sound, they are preparing to release their self-produced debut LP — One — on Friday, August 26. Friday, July 22, they will KKFI listeners the first taste of what’s to come with their lead single “Wander Away.” “Wander Away,” is somewhat of a public service announcement about mental health. “We explored the ideas of separating yourself from worries and giving yourself a break,” Ben shares. “I think it’s so important that when we are in a place where we feel like we are in need, maybe that is the exact time to reach out to others who are also in need.”

Sonia Hall will give KKFI Listeners the 411 on the inaugural Innovation Festival coming to Kansas City August 4-6, culminating in a one day music extravaganza bringing breakout, established, and legendary indie alt-rock artists for a full day of entertainment and discovery. Innovation Festival is Kansas City’s opportunity to mingle with cutting-edge innovators across science and tech while unlocking the connection between music and science.
Also scheduled are debuts of new music from Tami Nielsen, Kasey Rausch and Carie Welling and favorites from Eva Cassidy and Steve Earle. It’s a Tasty Brew!
