Hank Williams’ 100th Birthday Celebration

This week The Tasty Brew Music Radio Show celebrates what would have been the 100th birthday of one of the most iconic and influential artists in American Music – Mr. Hank Williams (September 17, 1923).  Featured on the first hour of the program will be the Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams – A Radio Special first made available for broadcast in 2011.  Hank Williams wrote a lot of songs that he never got to record.  He always kept notebooks filling them with lyrics and song ideas.  But when Hank died in early 1953, they were locked away for decades.   They were re-opened and thirteen of our most accomplished songwriters were given the opportunity to “co-write” and complete a Hank Williams song.  In this radio special, you will hear about the life and music of Hank Williams and hear from his “new” collaborators.

Hour 2 will be dedicated to the music of Hank’s children and grandchildren and songs written about or in homage to the man who also called himself Luke the Drifter.  A special edition of the Tasty Brew for the legendary anchorman of American Country Music.
