For the next episode of the ProgNosis segment of the Dr. Rock & Mr. Prog Show, we’ll take a deep dive into Genesis and its individual members — as all have released solo material in addition to the group’s output. From original guitarist Anthony Phillips to his replacement Steve Hackett to vocalist Peter Gabriel to keyboardist Tony Banks to drummer Phil Collins (who only took up singing when they couldn’t find a suitable alternative after Peter’s departure) to bassist Mike Rutherford (both on his own and as the leader of Mike + The Mechanics), there’s more than enough material to re-whet listener interest in this seminal prog-rock band.
