At 10:15 Kansas City based musician, singer, songwriter, Dylan Pyles shares information about his new album, A TRAIN CALLED SOLITUDE, coming May 28, on Manor Records. Dylan Pyles releases music as a solo artist and plays in KC-based hardcore band Canyons. He released POPULAR SONGS FOR THE HEART, in 2019 and EVIL MUSIC FOR AN UGLY WORLD in 2020. Both records were written and recorded by Pyles at his home. On his solo records, he plays all the instruments, but performs live with friends. Pyles has been playing since he was 16, in a variety of bands, and as a solo artist for over a decade. His current projects range from country-tinged singer-songwriter tunes to instrumental guitar music. At 10:30 Mark talks with singer songwriter David Luther about his single, “Home To Kansas City” released through Grand Central Bell Records on February 3, 2021, and recorded and produced by David George and Pat Tomek (The Rainmakers). David Luther released his debut EP David Luther in 2009, recorded in Nashville with Nielson Hubbard and Garrison Starr. On 2017 David Joined David George & A Crooked Mile serving as a touring guitarist and back up vocalist. David is releasing several singles this year including the release of “The World’s Gonna Change,” a previous collaboration with Academy Award and Golden Globe winning songwriter Tom Whitlock. At 11:00 Mark talks with musician and film composer Remy Styrk who joins us to talk about his musical compositions, and film work. Remy recently released the single “Boy” on November 5, 2020. Remy writes about this new release: “The number of times someone or something washed my hands clean, stood me back up, and gave me another try is unmeasurable. throughout my life i’ve experienced death, drug addiction, anxiety, abandonment, and pure fear… 2020 has been a catalyst for me. igniting everything i’ve been shoving under the bed and breathing life into a debilitatingly unpredictable fire.” 21 year old Remy Styrk lives in Leawood Kansas. In 2019 he released the single “Winter/Summer.” In 2018 Remy released “In Too Deep” one of 5 singles Remy has released in the last 2 years. The Black Creatures recently released their single “Negative Zero” on April 2, with a music video that was the continuation of a story from their earlier single and video release for “wretched (it goes)”, originally released on The Black Creatures 2019/2020 album Wild Echoes. Wild Echoes landed at #2 on WMM’s 119 Best Recordings of 2019, after being remastered and reissued by CenterCut Records in 2020 it was named “Album of The Year” for The Pitch Kansas City.
