At 10:30, KC Fringe Executive Director – Audrey Crabtree joins us to share details about the 19th annual KC Fringe Festival, July 14-30, 2023, that will showcase 54 productions, 6 films, and 2 galleries featuring 35 visual artists featuring performers and creators from Kansas City, and across the country, and around the world. KC Fringe Festival will present a special preview offering a free sneak peek of family-friendly performances showcasing dance, live music, musicals, comedy, dance, and fun surprises! At 11:00 members of Voler Aerial Academy join us to talk about their KC Fringe production, DISCO DAISY SAVES THE CITY FROM ROCK & ROLL, July 21 – 29 at Union Station City Stage. Playwrights Chip Ashby and Stephanie Iszory share details about how Disco Daisy and her Defenders save the soul of the city from the dastardly Dr. Rock & Roll and his evil henchmen, Hardcore, Punk, and Heavy Metal. Disco Daisy is an aerial arts extravaganza, featuring several aerial elements including silks, lyra, trapeze, chandelier, and rope. At 11:30 AM Mark welcomes Beth Byrd-Lonski of Byrd Productions Physical Theater who shares details abut her KC Fringe show, 2 MIMES IN A POD – Students of Marcel Marceau, featuring Beth Byrd-Lonski and Dean Hatton on July 21 – July 29, at The Center for Spiritual Living. Theses Two students of world re-known Mime artist Marcel Marceau, like to get together every few years and show their latest Mime pieces. This is one of those years.
