During our first 30 minutes, host Leslie Scott interviews Rachel Russell. Rachel joined Literacy KC in February 2016 as the Programs Support Coordinator. Rachel previously served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member for the Ticket to Read Program in 2015 at LKC.
In our 2nd half hour, Leslie interviews Pauline Eatmon-Johnson, CEO and Owner of local Non-Profit and LLC “Scholar Smarts,” which focuses on bridging under-served, under-resourced populations with community resources and training to enhance family lifestyles. Scholar Smarts supports competency-based learning systems, and has been recognized by the State of Missouri Success-Ready Student Network Innovation Zones.

KC Change Makers and Conversations with Crystal
Tim Sweeney, host of KC Change Makers, interviews Jasmine Moore who educates us on World Water Day and the importance of that commemoration as it relates to caring for our environment. In the second half of the program, Krystal interviews a former KC educator who is now working in the Not For Profit sector and remains educating our children, albeit in a different setting.

In our second half-hour Crystal Everett, host of Conversations with Crystal, interviews (during the Covid shutdown) Deidre Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of United Inner City Services (now named EarlystART), a non-profit which provides early education for low-income children.
