The Tenth Voice (LGBTQIA)
The Tenth Voice is the Kansas City area's only weekly broadcast created by and for LGBTQIA+ people in our community in the Greater Kansas City area and around the world online. Listeners can tune in each Saturday at 1:00 PM. Each week our team of hosts and producers present interviews, information, music, news and features especially important to Lesbians, Gay Men, Bisexuals, Transgender & Nonbinary people, Queer, Intersex, Asexual & Aromantic people and Allied collective communities. Since 1989, The Tenth Voice radio show has documented and informed the LGBTQIA+ Kansas City Community.
Can you believe it is the 3rd Saturday of 2021 already and time again for Show People. This week host Michael Grayman-Parkhurst welcomes director, playwright and teacher Luther Goins on to the show.
Luther Goins has served as Resident Artistic Director at the African-American based Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre in Evanston, IL and Managing Director at the Chicago Theatre Company, a professional African-American company located on Chicago’s south side. Luther is a former Business Representative with the Chicago office of Actors’ Equity Association. LOVE CHILD, his first play, made its debut in 2001 at Chicago’s Live Bait Theatre. This highly successful production received the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Work. Luther worked as the Interim Executive Director for Congo Square Theatre Company during their 2019-2020 Transitional Season. He continues to work as a Theatre Management Consultant in and around Chicago.
