Breathe, breathe in the air, don’t be afraid to care!
Host Richard Mabion speaks with activists with Clean Air Now, including Eric Kirkendahl, Rachel Jefferson and Beto Lugo Martinez, Co-Director. The CleanAirNow Coalition is dedicated to improving air quality in Kansas City and the surrounding region, particularly in communities suffering the greatest health burden, and to preventing and mitigating disease caused by air pollution.
People living in places subjected to industrial air pollution do not need to be made aware of the problem, but they need help with stopping the onslaught of dirty air that causes health damage. Clean Air Now has been monitoring and surveying neighborhoods surrounding industry that emits pollution. They have seen some success.
It helps to know what is happening in our neighborhoods. Even in these times of federal deregulation, there is no question that health damaging pollution is still wrong and that public action is a vital tool to be used to correct that injustice.
