Music to March in a St Patrick’s Day Parade by!

Yes, indeed – KKFI is marching in the St Patrick’s Day parade and Foolkiller Folk is providing the marching music! We’ve stuffed in as many artists as possible and you’ll be hearing selections from Kansas City’s local favorites, from masters of the genre, ‘the 5 bands that will get you hooked on traditional Irish music’,  the bands that  in the forefront of the Celtic folk renaissance in the 1970s and some current favorites. Come to the parade and cheer for KKFI!!

And here, in alphabetical order (except for the Irish Center) ‘s a selection of live performances you can catch before and after the parade:

First, there’s an Irish session and Ceili at the Irish Center 3301 Baltimore Ave, Kansas City, MO from 1:30-2:30.  They will have a food truck outside starting at 2pm and will be stocked with your favorite Irish drinks. Dance instruction from Céilí at the Crossroads,  local Irish musicians providing the tunes.  “most festive” dress contest

And from there,

Blarney Stoned (Irish Rock Band), from 12:30 PM at Davey’s Uptown Rambler’s Club, 3402 Main St, Kansas City, MO

Eddie Delahunt, 2pm to 9pm at O’Dowd’s, 4742 Pennsylvania Ave, Kansas City,

Into The Sun, 2:30 to 4:00 pm at the Irish Center and  5:00 to 6:30 pm at The Garment House, 1000 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64105

Jonathan Ramsey2 PM at The Well ,7421 Broadway St, Kansas City, MO

Kid in the Mountain,11 -12:30 at Californos, 4124 Pennsylvania KCMO  and 3:00 – 5:00 pm at KC Bier Co, 310 W 79th St, Kansas City, MO 64114

Mucksavage (Irish Rock Band from Denver) 5:00 pm for “Here’s To The Roots” at Ollie’s Local ,3044 Gillham Rd, Kansas City, Missouri 64108

Stolen Apples (Eddie Edwards & Keith Van Winkle) will be playing at Browne’s Irish Market, 3300 Pennsylvania Ave, both before the parade and then after till 1pm.
