The Tenth Voice (LGBTQIA)
The Tenth Voice is the Kansas City area's only weekly broadcast created by and for LGBTQIA+ people in our community in the Greater Kansas City area and around the world online. Listeners can tune in each Saturday at 1:00 PM. Each week our team of hosts and producers present interviews, information, music, news and features especially important to Lesbians, Gay Men, Bisexuals, Transgender & Nonbinary people, Queer, Intersex, Asexual & Aromantic people and Allied collective communities. Since 1989, The Tenth Voice radio show has documented and informed the LGBTQIA+ Kansas City Community.
It is the third Saturday of the month and time for Through the Rainbow Lens with Matthew Koehler! And he’s back for his second episode, Gettin Bi: A Musical Extravaganza! Matthew talks with longtime friend and thespian, Emily Wirkus. They chat about all things Crazy Ex Girlfriend: a hit show that features wonderful themes and songs that involve the LGBTQIA+ community.
Matthew is a lifelong thespian, a proud bisexual, and a believer in the value of artistic expression. Forged in the Omaha youth theatre scene, he went on to earn a BFA in Theatre with a concentration in acting from Kansas City’s Avila University. Matthew has worked at many theaters around town, as a spotlight operator and stage manager. Growing up in the arts taught Matthew that the lessons of theatre are inherently bound to the skills it takes to cultivate a full and forthright life.
