In Part 2 of today's program, Conversations with Crystal host Crystal Everett discusses the Black learning experience when educators are "color blind" in their approach to educating.

Cross-Lines Community Outreach addresses food and housing insecurity. Rachel was also recently elected to serve as a board member for the Kansas City KS Public Schools. Leslie next interviews Pauline Eatman-Johnson who is CEO and Owner of local Non-Profit and LLC “Scholar Smarts”, which works to bridge under-served, under-resourced populations with community resources and training to enhance family lifestyles. Scholar Smarts has been recognized by the State of Missouri Success-Ready Student Network Innovation Zones.

Host Leslie Scott interviews Terri Barnes during the show’s first 30 minutes. Terri has been a 22-yr volunteer at the DuBois Learning Center, whose mission is to improve academic performance of under-served communities through educational services and state-of-the-art technology. Ms. Barnes is currently serving as the interim director of Lead to Read, a volunteer organization focused upon providing reading mentors to 2nd through 4th graders at elementary schools across Kansas City, MO.
In the 2nd half-hour, Leslie interviews Kathyrn Evans, who founded Rooted Strategy, an organization that provides support and encouragement to non-profit organizations seeking to improve the lives of people, especially those who are systematically unseen and oppressed.
