Today's first 30 minute segment features Eugene Chavez interviewing Nicolas Segura about his professional career in Advertising and Marketing and how he has successfully focused on marketing Hispanic businesses. About 15 years ago, Nicholas started an agency that represented ethnic models because they were difficult to find. Nicholas has since been representing and directing talent with ethnic looks for print, broadcast and multilingual voice-over work. 

In our 2nd segment, Crystal Everett interviews an educator having 30+ years experience regarding how teachers can be better prepared to support black students.

In our first 30 minutes, Core Conversations host Leslie Scott interviews Reda Ibrahim, an Egyptian immigrant, who has successfully started a local roofing and construction company that hires Mideastern immigrants and that uses environmentally friendly construction materials. In Part 2 of today's program, Conversations with Crystal host Crystal Everett discusses the Black learning experience when educators are "color blind" in their approach to educating.

Cross-Lines Community Outreach addresses food and housing insecurity. Rachel was also recently elected to serve as a board member for the Kansas City KS Public Schools.  Leslie next interviews Pauline Eatman-Johnson who is CEO and Owner of local Non-Profit and LLC “Scholar Smarts”, which works to bridge under-served, under-resourced populations with community resources and training to enhance family lifestyles. Scholar Smarts has been recognized by the State of Missouri Success-Ready Student Network Innovation Zones.

Host Leslie Scott interviews Terri Barnes during the show’s first 30 minutes. Terri has been a 22-yr volunteer at the DuBois Learning Center, whose mission is to improve academic performance of under-served communities through educational services and state-of-the-art technology. ​Ms. Barnes is currently serving as the interim director of Lead to Read, a volunteer organization focused upon providing reading mentors to 2nd through 4th graders at elementary schools across Kansas City, MO.

In the 2nd half-hour, Leslie interviews Kathyrn Evans, who founded Rooted Strategy, an organization that provides support and encouragement to non-profit organizations seeking to improve the lives of people, especially those who are systematically unseen and oppressed.
