Host Craig Lubow interviews Dennis Meier about the services and history of Synergy Services which began in 1970 as Synergy House, the only shelter for runaway and homeless youth in western Missouri. Through the years, a series of both serendipitous and strategic mergers expanded the organization’s reach to include young children and women victimized by abuse. Some of the topics to be covered include Synergy sevices the public may not be aware of, homelessness in general, youth homelessness, and LGBT homeless issues.
Dennis Meier is a a licensed counselor and marriage and family therapist by profession and has worked at Synergy for 30 years and has been instrumental in developing programs and services for children, youth, and families who are impacted by child abuse and neglect and domestic violence.
